I don't know whether the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida on February 26 was justified, or legal. But I do know there is no evidence of a racial motive.

Nevertheless, an enormous effort is being made to convince us that the tragedy has a racial component, by politicians, including presidents, past and present, journalists, and sportsmen.
