Cambridge University UK - as bigoted as Duke, NC by Jay Knott (03/09/12) ⇌ (Feminism)
Students tried to prevent Dominique Strauss-Kahn, ex-head of the IMF, speaking at the Cambridge Union. Students protested - well that's what students do. But they weren't protesting about international banking. Nor about the fact that he was head of the French pseudo-Socialist Party; he's a sort of froggie version of Tony Blair. They were protesting, just like their counterparts in Durham, North Carolina, about the fact that he was cleared of a rape charge brought by an black woman. Like Crystal Magnum in Durham, Nafissatou Diallo in New York was encouraged to tell lies by left-wing activists.
Then some mad Frenchwoman jumped on the bandwagon, suddenly remembering an incident five years ago, and Strauss-Kahn's currently being charged with running a prostitution ring. Now, international bankers are bad enough, but are they likely to engage in pimping? I don't think so. It's just mass hysteria.
Just like their counterparts in North Carolina in 2006, Strauss-Kahn's accusers assume that poor, black, female plaintiffs get a rough deal. Nothing could be further from the truth.
And Cambridge students are supposed to be smarter than most.
