Here is an American describing the fact that her Korean boyfriend's parents didn't want him to marry a white girl. Instead of choosing one or other of the logical alternatives:

a. condemning their attitude as racism, or

b. accepting that members of all ethnic groups have the right, and good genetic reasons, to try to encourage in-group marriage,

she flagellates herself for racist attitudes - 'it was white privilege that blinded me'.
