Egypt surrenders to Israel - again by Jay Knott (11/17/12)       ⇌ (Arab autumn)

Like most Middle Eastern politicians, Egypt's prime minister confines himself to whining about Israel's treatment of the Palestinians:

"What I am witnessing in Gaza is a disaster and I can't keep quiet. The Israeli aggression must stop"

Must stop? How is he proposing to make it stop?

"Egypt is not planning to get the Palestinians to escalate; we are supporting them, but we don't want them to escalate"

The Palestinians can't escalate without support from around the world, especially nearby countries. Most of these countries have long given up on actually doing anything to restore Palestine, and confine themselves to windy speeches. The 'Arab spring' doesn't appear to have made any difference.
